Position: Communications Specialist IV

Company: Fortune 500 Insurance Company

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 15 months

Pay: $43 per hour

Job Description:

This role involves leading large projects and initiatives focused on strategic communication planning and implementation for various business areas. The Communications Specialist IV will specifically support communications for an implementation project and related change management messaging.

Top Must-Have Skills / Candidate Requirements:

- Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Comfort in interacting with senior executives

- Experience with large-scale implementations

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in communications or related fields such as English Literature, Journalism, Media Studies, or Communication Sciences, plus 4 years of professional experience in communications (e.g., customer service, promotions, marketing, advertising, public relations)

- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in communications (e.g., customer service, promotions, marketing, advertising, public relations)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

- Create and distribute internal communications to around 150 program team members and external communications to approximately 64,000 people, playing a crucial role in the implementation project

- Types of communication include intranet posts, email communications, scripts for senior executives, and content with visual design elements such as infographics and presentations

- Collaborate closely with organizational change management leaders, project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure clear, consistent, and timely change messages

- Maintain a consistent change story arc throughout the program, linking messages back to the reason for the change and the journey

- Measure the effectiveness of communication efforts and provide feedback for improvement

- Write and create presentations

Primary Interactions:

- This role involves collaboration across the program, with primary interactions being with the Organizational Change Management Lead and executives.

Standouts on Resume:

- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to tell a story, not just tactical communication

- Experience with large implementations

- Samples of writing style (journalistic writing not required)

- Experience with change management, especially with foundational training in change management

Performance Measurement:

- Feedback from the Organizational Change Management Lead and executives

- Quality and effectiveness of the communications produced
