As a Copy Editor for Food and Beverage Menus, you will be responsible for copy editing, proofreading, and upholding menu writing standards for Walt Disney World (WDW) food and beverage menus! You will handle the sustainment of menu assets and menu layout adjustments to ensure show quality is maintained. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with the Menu Production and Design team as well as key partners in Food and Beverage Operations. Success in this role will require meticulous attention to detail and the ability to proof large amounts of copy at a time.

This role will report to the Manager, Menu Projects, Design and Standards.

What You Will Do


  • Supports the Menu Production and Design Team with copy development and editing, proofreading, and writing standards sustainment on all Food and Beverage Menus, including print, digital, online, and signage.
  • Establish and monitor project workflow, and provide regular status updates to key partners
  • Monitor any discrepancies and respond to inquiries, inclusive of incorrect photos, pricing, incorrect menu item descriptions, allergy and plant-based descriptions
  • Conduct audits for consistency and validation of correct nomenclature across menu content online and in printed formats to ensure Disney standards for menu writing and the Disney brands are reflected consistently in all materials.
  • Collaborates with team members and cross-functional groups as it relates to copy and menu assets
  • Sustain Corporate Alliance nomenclature agreements
  • Handles sustainment adjustments of Design / Menu Layout in Menu Asset System (e.g., add/delete icons, adjustments, linking content, grammar)
  • Copy Edit and process online menu content changes
  • Act as a consultant, influencer and strategic thought partner to Line of Business clients, peers, and partners to understand needs and shape menu writing production


Required Qualifications & Skills


  • 1+ years of Copyediting experience
  • Ability to manage deadlines, and handle competing priorities
  • College-level understanding of grammar, style and spelling
  • Ability to handle large volume and a wide variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated detail-orientation


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite
