Role Summary
The Data Center Architect will be responsible for providing post sales design and implementation services for present and future customers. Must possess excellent technical and communication skills and will be responsible for working with vendors, partners, and sales to ensure that optimum systems solutions are provided to customers.
Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, and techniques
Acts as primary consultant on large projects that affect the organization's long-term objectives / strategy
Responsible for carrying out service delivery for customers throughout the deployment lifecycle (plan, design, implement, optimize, document)
Build and maintain strong relationships with Delivery Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and domain/practice/discipline Architects
Demonstrate a high-level of design and implementation experience, highly motivated, excited about learning new products/technologies and able to effectively communicate (world-class customer service and maintaining a strong customer relationship)
Drive and responsible for final design meetings with customers
Staging and Implementation of the technologies listed
Document specific build information
Perform training on the technologies listed as it pertains directly to what was configured as part of the solution
Provide project status on a regular basis, while answering customer questions timely and professionally
Create project deliverables such as requirements documents, cabling details, cutover plans, resiliency test plans, and drawings
Provide informal customer knowledge transfer if required
Requirements
Demonstrated technical consulting experience with the ability to influence and lead technical architecture and design discussions
Ability to effectively facilitate meetings with all experience and leadership levels both internal and external
Possesses a broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to architect a solution by mapping a business problem to an end-to-end technology solution
Proven experience with advanced Data Center architecture, capabilities, design, and implementation
10+ years of expertise and experience in Storage and Virtualization technologies
Experience with Storage, Compute, Virtualization, and Hyper-converged abilities
Experience with Cisco UCS, Nutanix, VMware vSphere, Netapp
Background with Fibre Channel switching (MDS, Nexus FCoE, Brocade)
Skilled in Ethernet switching as it pertains to IP storage & hypervisor host connectivity
Experience in Cisco HyperFlex HX. + include Pure Storage, VMware Horizon View, VMware Site Recovery Manager a plus
A general understanding of Layer 3 Routing Protocols
Additional technologies that may be encountered include Veeam, Dell-EMC VxRail/VxRack, VMware vSAN, VMware vRealize Operations Manager, and Cohesity
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience
Salary commensurate with years' of experience, technical expertise and geographic location
Salary range: $150,000 to $200,000
