The Salary Range For This Role Is

$126,465.60 - $227,506.01

Responsibilities

The Director/Controller for the Modesto manufacturing facility is a leader who drives the strategic and business planning process from a financial perspective for Modesto operations. The role requires a high degree of collaboration with other corporate functions in Plant & Agriculture Operations, Supply & Demand Planning, Marketing, Sales and Corporate Finance to ensure supply meets demand at the planned cost. The Director/Controller will participate as a critical hands-on leader as part of the Modesto Plant Leadership Team and will partner with the Modesto Plant Director to report and add context to financial results and drivers on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, driving cost reduction initiatives with the team. The role will also develop and maintain the facility’s long-range financial model, incorporating strategies and initiatives and will provide the company’s executive leadership financial results on a monthly and quarterly basis including analysis on revenue, costs, and key productivity metrics.

  • Provide strategic leadership in the areas of Product Costing, Raw Products, and Sheet accounts, working with the Corporate departments and shared services teams. Ensure that the accounting is accurate and in compliance with IFRS, company policies and SOX. Communicate financial and operating results to corporate team
  • Lead the development of the Annual Operating Plan for variable and fixed costs, in work sessions with the Operation Teams and Plant Finance teams. Explain financial and operating results against the AOP and forecasts, providing insight and guidance to Plant Leadership team for cost management.
  • Participate as a key member of the plant leadership team, providing leadership to report results on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to enable functional leaders to make the best real time and strategic decisions. Provide guidance within the plant leadership team on cost improvement dig sites and value of initiatives needed to meet plan. Drive cost reduction initiatives with the team.
  • Partner with the Corporate functions in Supply & Demand Planning, Marketing, Sales and Finance to ensure supply meets demand at planned cost. Support Operations, Warehouse and plant finance in the management of inventory levels of products and materials on hand to minimize surplus inventories and reduce waste.
  • Direct the support for Internal and External Audits
  • Production Planning
    • Participate in monthly cross functional reviews of inventory levels for Finished Goods / Brites. Identify potential surplus / short materials. Work with the cross functional team to mitigate risks.
    • Conduct frequent reviews of direct materials on hand and future requirements to ensure inventory levels are JIT to production and minimize waste exposure
    • Manage development of the monthly and quarterly (3+9, 6+6, 9+3) forecasts at the facilities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, reduce costs (including waste). Utilize systems, BPS teams, etc. to automate routine tasks.
  • Train and develop competent team members to improve analytics and insights, partnering with Operations to drive margin growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree – Business, Accounting or Finance
  • MBA or CPA a plus
  • 10 – 15 years in a Controller role
  • SAP experience required, in particular in product costing
  • Superior understanding of IFRS and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Anaplan and Blue Yonder experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Good communication skills – both upward and downward
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Superior people management skills, especially in dealing with remotely located teams
