Director of Development

Job Title: Director of Thermal Development

You will be managing Thermal and New Technology Development on large-scale Natural Gas Power Generation projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop greenfield and brownfield standalone combustion turbine and combined cycle projects including carbon capture across RTO's within the United States.
• Understand thermal power generation technologies to meet market needs. Technologies will utilize fuel oil or natural gas and could include carbon capture.
• Work with market entry analysis, site evaluations, permits, and acquisitions.
• Develop numerous projects that support origination of PPA and build transfers.
• Manage resource development activities internally and externally, including: site acquisition, real estate, interconnection, regulatory approvals, engineering, land use and environmental permitting.
• Oversee economic model development and financial evaluation.
• Work closely with engineering team to decide what technology to use, performance, and capital cost.
• Manage budgets and project cost estimates for project development.
• Work with Regulatory team to target markets and key drivers for project development.
• Work with Commercial Analytics team to identify operational requirements and system sizing.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in a similar role/industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field of study.
• Holds a valid driver's with ability to travel up to 25% to project sites.
• Familiar with utility-scale project development and thermal energy production/development.
• Good organizational, leadership, management, and networking skills.
• Willingness to participate in development activities with communities that are local.
