Overview:


We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytically focused leader to take ownership of our companywide risk management and insurance operations by enhancing processes, procedures, policies, and practices.


The Director will manage the placement and renewal of all insurance and risk management programs, working closely with senior management, brokers, and agents to minimize company risk. This position will be in the office Monday-Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays.


Responsibilities:


  • Ownership of day to day, companywide insurance program.
  • Develop and manage relationships with insurance companies to ensure market efficiency regarding premiums.
  • Act as the company contact for internal and external personnel on insurance and risk management questions, claims, reporting and administration.
  • Maintain all organization practices, policies and procedures related to insurance program, including the implementation of all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead the reporting, administration, and development of planning for all renewals, and ensure compliance with audit requests, all terms, and conditions.
  • Management of all activities including claims, budgeting, billings, policy changes, compliance, and allocations.
  • Analysis of company insurance program and negotiate/obtain the most favorable insurance contract prices and terms.
  • Set strategic direction of insurance and risk management for company.
  • Develop strategy for risk financing and the fair allocation of costs across business units.
  • Evaluate and implement the most cost-effective way to provide risk management services to the company.
  • Build monitoring and controlling mechanisms to inform senior management on risk mitigation.
  • Make recommendations to senior management to create a more robust and cost-effective risk management solution for the company.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5+ years of company insurance and risk management experience.
  • Professional insurance licenses and designations are preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate insurance principals, programs, policies, and practices with the ability to interpret and apply complex insurance and risk management concepts.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills with an ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, dealing with competing priorities, and attention to detail.
  • Well developed presentation and influencing skills to effectively negotiate terms, conditions, and economics.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to be proactive and have a high degree of initiative to oversee insurance and risk management program.
  • 4-year degree from accredited college
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work within a team environment and interact with all levels of the organization.
