Purpose And Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Boston Financial Investment Management, LP (BF), the Director, Strategic Initiatives is the primary project management resource for executive and senior leadership to drive company-wide and strategic and growth initiatives that enhance the BF’s position in the marketplace, strengthen the organization, and enable it to achieve its goals. This position will play a critical role in working with executive and functional area leaders to formulate strategies, prioritize initiatives, manage change and implementation efforts, and monitor execution to ensure strategic goals are achieved. The Director, Strategic Initiatives also has responsibility for internal communications, specifically as they relate to strategic efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Advise and support CEO and the Executive Team with planning, organizing, and prioritizing critical issues and required information to facilitate strategic planning and decision making.
  • Provide structured project management to support strategy formulation, including evaluation of potential initiatives, identification of resource gaps and requirements for deployment, and assessment of execution options.
  • Work with the executive and senior leadership teams in the evaluation of priority focus areas to ensure the company’s growth and sustainability.
  • Organize and facilitate key internal and external strategic meetings with CEO and the leadership teams.
  • In collaboration with business leaders, ensure coordination across functional teams to facilitate the set-up, execution, and monitoring of strategic initiatives.
  • In conjunction with the CEO and the Executive team, provide project management to support strategic acquisitions, develop and implement organizational integration plans, and launch new business products.
  • In collaboration with the CEO, oversee executive and senior management career progression and help guide the company through the implementation of leadership development and succession planning programs.
  • Coordinate strategic initiative updates to senior leadership, management committees, and employees to keep stakeholders informed of progress to date, milestones, decisions, and other items.
  • Guide company internal communications to foster understanding of BF’s strategic priorities and what they mean to managers and teams, provide progress updates, and highlight results achieved.

Contacts

This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management within BF, along with ORIX Corporation USA (OCU), and other subsidiary leadership. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of seven to ten years’ progressive experience as a mid-senior level professional in business, organizational management, and communication disciplines.
  • Experience in and strong understanding of large business organizations, financial services, and multi-family real estate.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to manage complex projects to achieve critical goals, build solid cross-functional relationships, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to analyze data, interpret results, and present recommendations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in preparing and delivering executive-level updates for senior management, as well as employee communications.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of different people in a variety of situations.
  • Self-motivated, team player who pays close attention to detail and who can prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
