The candidate will provide engineering support for the maintenance and operation of the crane program required to support processing of the D5 weapon system at SWFLANT in Kings Bay, Georgia. The job functions include engineering support and technical guidance associated with the design, modification, maintenance, fabrication, installation, testing, and review of crane equipment and installations including engineering technical investigations to enhance crane reliability and operating effectiveness. Monitor crane activity report logs on a periodic basis and evaluate repetitive discrepancies for corrective action. Provide engineering review, troubleshooting, and disposition recommendations for discrepant crane hardware. Provide failure diagnosis and recommend corrective action on crane malfunctions. Support weight test activities through development of weight test instructions and participation in weight tests. Provide safety engineering guidance related to crane hardware, processing, and personnel safety. Provide assistance on crane alteration accomplishment and subsequent testing. Review proposed changes and prepare recommended changes to crane documentation. Maintain technical liaison with Contractor, Navy Crane Center, Base On-Site Contractor, production, and materiel organizations. Develop, prepare, and maintain concepts, criteria, designs, specifications, and documentation regarding the acquisition of new crane hardware.
