Emergency Manager

Job Description: Represents CRHS at meetings in community dealing with Emergency Management. Provide training on issues dealing with Emergency Management. Actively participate as a member of the Physical Environment Committee. Under limited supervision is responsible for continuously developing and managing an on-going Emergency Management Program for Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS). Will analyze and determine proper procedures for mitigation, preparation, response and recovery in emergency and disaster situations and assists in developing and implementing those agency standards as pertains to emergency preparedness and disaster management. Serves as liaison in emergency management issues with local and state agencies. Develops and presents program specific training. Strong leadership skills are needed to lead the system forward in an ever-evolving field. Creativity and imagination are essential to envision worst-case scenarios in order to prepare for them.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or 5 years’ experience in Healthcare with knowledge of Emergency Management.
• Will be required to obtain designation of Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) within 3 years of hire or Emergency Management Certification Type IV within 2 years of hire.
  
  

Preferred: Clinical background as either RN or EMT.

Experience: Preferred strong knowledge or experience in disaster planning, project management, or emergency preparedness.
