Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our clients construction team. The HSE Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and implementing effective safety programs across multiple construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and job safety analyses for various construction activities.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Training and Development:
Organize and conduct HSE training sessions for employees and subcontractors, including orientation sessions for new hires.
Ensure all personnel are trained in emergency response procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with legislation and ensure the company's practices comply with all legal requirements.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company during HSE audits and inspections
Emergency Response:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills and exercises.
Act as the primary point of contact for emergency situations and provide guidance during emergencies.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and other HSE activities.
Prepare regular HSE performance reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices.
Identify opportunities for improving safety performance and implement innovative solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry.
Professional certification in health and safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, MVK/HVK) is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with HSE management software.
Fluency in Dutch or German and English is required.
