With 2-4 years of experience in environmental planning in California, you will know how to research, ascertain a regulatory environmental path forward, and manage, write, and deliver all facets of CEQA and NEPA planning documents in California from an EIR/EIS to a CATEX and everything in between. Your experience will help you work with our Sr. EP and management team during client and prospect meetings, understanding their environmental requirements and articulately suggesting pathways for the successful procurement of the project. You will work with our experienced team to support the completion and submission of environmental documents on time and within budget. Experienced in the CEQA process
Collaborating within our Planning Department to support all stakeholders, from developers to lead agencies, to complete each step in the process efficiently.
Supporting long and short-term plans, including target milestones and adhering to deadlines.
Accepting tasks on the project and communicating with staff specialists to facilitate completing them.
Identifying and managing potential challenges of multiple projects.
Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals.
Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for progressing with the project.
Working with the Sr. EP as a supportive point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
Communicating with staff often to keep a project aligned with goals
Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
Skills and Qualifications:
Planning experience in California
Understanding of the Project Planning Framework
Knowledge of various project planning methodologies
Proven passion for environmental planning
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
Ability to make important decisions under pressure
Problem-solving skills
Time management skills
Friendly and approachable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business Management, or any applicable degree but preferably in an environmental service setting.
At least 3 years of experience
