Founded in 1909, George Junior Republic is dedicated to helping at-risk youth become successful, well-adjusted adults, capable of achieving a higher degree of citizenship and a better understanding of his responsibility to society, family and self. Preventative Aftercare, a GJR Affiliate corporation, provides community-based services in Pennsylvania and Ohio to both adults, children, and families.
Summary of the position: The Family Based Mental Health Professional (counselor) will provide as the lead clinician for individual, group and family therapy sessions on a regularly scheduled basis. The Family Based counselor will also provide families with 24/7 on call service when scheduled and comply with all on-call policies as determined by the Family Based Director, and develop clinically appropriate Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for the youth and family. Administrative tasks are also assigned to the Mental Health Professional. The counselor's hours are considered non-traditional based on referring agency and client needs; however, the work week is considered full time (40 hours per week). Employees are expected to work a minimum of two evenings (past 5pm) two evenings per week. On-call crisis line coverage according to schedule.
Requirements:
Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work or a related field.
Licensure is preferred, but not required.
Must have a minimum of two years direct service experience with children and adolescents in a CASSP system providing behavioral or mental health services.
