General Manager, Private Country Club

Job Description

Position Description:

The General Manager will direct all phases of Facility operations while providing quality service and products to Members and Guests of the country club.

Position Responsibilities:

Including, but not limited to, the following:

• Recruit, select and develop a qualified staff
• Ensures all club policies & procedures are adhered to and ensure all employees are accountable for compliance of policies & procedures.
• Maintains the practical aspects of building, developing, and maintaining the course and facility.
• Assists Controller in the development and maintainance of financial plans.
• Completes all administrative reporting.
• Creates marketing strategies and promotional material to attract new and current members. Works with Membership Manager on all campaigns.
• Creates promotional material for facility.
• Maintains rental agreements and event scheduling.
• Identifies opportunities for events, food, and beverage services.
• Ensures follow up on complaints/concerns quickly and effectively.
  
  

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years experience in country club operations management
• Demonstrated success leading teams, including staff supervision and training
• Excellent Written & Verbal Communications
• High business acumen, including experience in: budget development and management; financial reporting; maximizing revenues; marketing; and strategic planning
• Proficient computer skills needed, country club industry software, and social media experience preferred
• Hold a weekly meeting with all department heads.
• Assist in planning, organization, and execution of all membership events.
• Help set and maintain the tone and culture of the club, making sure that it meets the expectations of all it's members and clients.
• Attend the monthly Board meeting.
