Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced founding Head of Engineering to join our team. This pivotal role will involve building our initial product from the ground up, and subsequently, hiring and leading a talented engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a full stack engineer with a proven track record in the startup space and experience at a successful consumer software company.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development: Build and maintain the initial version of our responsive web application, ensuring it meets high standards of performance, scalability, and reliability.
Collaboration: Work closely with the product, design, and business teams to align engineering efforts with company goals and customer needs.
Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing product engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, speed and excellence.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance, making critical architectural and design decisions to ensure the success of our product.
Startup Experience: Leverage your startup experience to navigate challenges, drive innovation, and contribute to the overall strategy and growth of the company.
Qualifications:
Full Stack Expertise: Extensive experience as a full stack engineer, with proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies.
AI Expertise: Familiarity with the latest AI technologies and a strong understanding of how to utilize it to enhance the user experience and functionality of the product.
Product Insight: Must possess strong design and product sense, with the ability to understand how designed elements will be built. Provide critical and timely feedback to drive decisions on the UX design of the product.
Startup Background: Demonstrated success in startup environments, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities they present.
Consumer Software Experience: Experience working at a successful consumer software company, with a track record of delivering high-quality products.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and lead teams, with a focus on fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of modern programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
Excellent Communicator: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Innovative and Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically, innovate, and contribute to the company’s long-term vision and success.
