Compensation: $185,000 - $220,000 / year

Description

Coursedog is seeking our first Head of People to help us professionalize all things people strategy and operations. We have outsourced the people function since our inception and this person will be tasked with helping us bring the function in-house to support our growth. This would be a player / coach role in the short-term with the ability to hire additional team members over time based on recommendation and company need. This person will heavily shape the direction of the team, but will be required to get their hands dirty in the process. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting and dynamic culture with a high performance team. Please note in consideration of market analysis and relevant factors, the annual cash salary range for this position is set between $170,000 and $185,000 + an additional annual cash bonus between 10% and 20% + competitive equity opportunity. Range is based on skills and relevant experiences specific to the job description.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the leadership team with people insights that inform business strategy.
  • Design, implement, & continuously improve people policies & procedures that align with our values, culture, & industry regulations.
  • Develop & administer competitive compensation & benefits packages.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution & performance management.
  • Collaborate with leadership team members to support their hiring needs.
  • Oversee onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Ensure our colleagues feel connected to our mission & to one another in a fully remote environment.
  • Oversee internal communication to keep colleagues informed & engaged.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to gather insights from colleagues.

Skills Knowledge And Expertise

  • 8+ years as a HR professional and 3+ years as the primary HR point of contact within a high-growth and/or tech start-up environment.
  • Comfortable working as an individual contributor navigating process, data, & digital HR tools.
  • Demonstrated bias for action.
  • Previous experience working with executives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
