We are seeking a Head of Planning and Inventory Optimization to join our team!

Overview:
To lead the entire NAFTA planning processes partnering with site leadership to optimize inventory, on-time delivery, and efficiency by utilizing an integrated demand planning and distribution system to determine the production, raw material, and imported product requirements.
Work closely with the local Production team, Customer Service, and Sales to assure great customer service, minimization of stocks, and efficient capacity utilization. Close communications and cooperation with the planning groups around the world. Exceptional candidates will be well versed in supply chain best practices and all aspects of production and inventory planning. Direct the activities of the planning organization to complete all responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To lead the entire planning processes utilizing an integrated demand planning and distribution system to determine the production build and imported product requirements.
Direct the activities of the planning organization to complete all responsibilities. Manage Planner positions, while working closely with the local Production team, Customer Service, and Sales to assure great customer service, minimization of stocks, and efficient capacity utilization.
Responsible for the department budget.
Responsible for the Planning KPIs and reporting requirements.
Distribution Management
Manage the distribution of both imported and domestic products to meet customer demands in a multi-warehouse distribution system
Production Planning
Manage and support the domestic product planning process
Partner with sites to align on an optimized production plan.
Visualization of critical logistic processes in production, to assure an effective and efficient flow of goods in compliance with all regulations.
Responsible for the accuracy of the raw material requirements
Responsible for the ongoing optimization of the production planning process
Inventory Management
Provide transparency of inventory
Responsible to optimize inventory levels.
Identification and disposition of “bad” stock
Utilization of planning strategies such as Make to Order, Package to Order
Responsible for the safety stock level process
Ensure the raw material requirements are properly understood by all stakeholders
Provides leadership for establishing and maintaining a safe work environment.
Proactively addresses and corrects all unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Cascade critical inventory to sales organization
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or related field.
7+ years of planning experience (SAP preferred) and progressive project management work.
3+ years of experience managing people and department activities.
Knowledge of material flow in a manufacturing environment.
Well versed in supply chain best practices and all aspects of planning processes.
Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
