What would you do at Ascend?

The Instructional Designer’s mission is to design, develop, and maintain internal and external documentation on Ascend’s products and processes. This role takes ownership of Ascend Academy, (our internal and external LMS) and Confluence spaces, and supports Ascend’s Help Center content. This role is crucial in ensuring that all users can take full advantage of our software, driving customer satisfaction, retention, and adoption. The salary range for this position is $75k -85k.

Your day-to-day would include:

  • Design and develop comprehensive instructional materials, including user guides, tutorials, videos, and interactive modules for both internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain and update content on Ascend Academy (LMS) and Confluence spaces to ensure accuracy, relevance, and accessibility.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and ensure content aligns with product updates and business processes.

  • Monitor and respond to feedback and inquiries to support Ascend’s Help Center content, ensuring timely updates and resolutions.

  • Evaluate and implement instructional design best practices to enhance learning experiences and drive user engagement.

  • Conduct regular audits of documentation and learning materials to maintain consistency and quality across all platforms.

  • Manage the organization, tagging, and retrieval of documentation to facilitate easy access and usability.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in instructional design and e-learning technologies to continually improve content delivery.

  • Work cross-functionally with Customer Support, Product Management, and Marketing teams to align documentation with business goals and customer needs.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in content development and delivery.

The ideal candidate must have at least three years experience in content creation and publishing and experience with Articulate/Rise 360. Candidates should possess a curiosity for emerging trends in instructional design and a commitment to creating engaging, user-friendly content. We value individuals who are enthusiastic about sharing information effectively, ensuring our users can maximize their experience with Ascend's products through clear and accessible documentation. Additionally, we are looking for someone who thrives in collaborating with internal stakeholders, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.
