Position Overview

The Instructional Designer manages projects from intake to launch and facilitation, providing recommendations on learning modality, content, and Learner experience. They partner with Stakeholders to create change management and continuous improvement plans for new and existing content. Additionally, they provide support and guidance to Instructional Designers.

Essential Duties

  • Effectively implement training to OCHINs Learning Management System (LMS) through evaluation, editing, and testing
  • Facilitation of learner content
  • Set and maintain the highest standards through the design lifecycle (scope, research and analysis, design, development, and launch) to include rapid pilot tests and feedback sessions at all stages
  • Consult with stakeholders to identify learner needs gaps, align, and execute on learning outcomes, learner experience design, and timelines to meet business goals
  • Provide an intentional balance of instructional modalities to optimize the adult leaner experience (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, audio and video scripts, story boards, navigational text, quizzes, tests, etc.)
  • Create engaging, inclusive, and adaptive learning material for intended audience.
  • Continually raise the development bar by seeking automation where appropriate and the most current solutions in learning-based design, tools, and systems
  • Present data and strategies as well as launch and facilitate training to designated learning audience.
  • May assist with the mentorship, onboarding, and training of Interns


Requirements

  • Certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management as appropriate
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within ambiguity and to navigate, organize, and prioritize tasks including those with short turnaround times.
  • The ideal candidate will have edX LMS administrator experience and ability to solve technical support issues for partners/learners
  • 3+ years’ experience facilitating/ presenting in classroom (in-person or virtual) adult learning content including the ability to:
  • Utilize current adult learning principles and practices
  • Experience presenting and or facilitating and continuously improving high quality, learner focused programs, using engaging delivery techniques to achieve appropriate learning outcomes
  • Maintain Learner engagement by delivering content utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following instructional design software: edX, Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia, Lectora, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and related SCORM compliant production tools.
  • edX experience is required.
  • Experience in working in a high growth, innovative healthcare or technology organization preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience to meet the needs of the position
  • 4+ years’ experience in Instructional Design to include:
  • LMS architecture and deployment experience in a corporate environment conceptualizing, editing, and creating virtual learning, corporate training, or a directly related content for adult learners, experience in a post-production continuous improvement environment with industry knowledge of standard workflows and content organization
  • 2+ years of project or program management experience preferred


Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

To keep our colleagues, members, and communities safe, OCHIN requires all employees—including remote employees, contractors, interns, and new hires—to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, as supported by state and federal public health officials, as a condition of employment. All new hires are required to provide proof of full vaccination or receive approval for a medical or religious exemption before their hire date.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.
