Junior Civil Engineer

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Junior Engineer who wants to work in a beautiful place for a great company! This direct hire position is about 35 minutes south of the Wadmalaw Island area* and will pay you for your daily commute to this Monday-Friday, 8-5, in-office position (where you can visit the beach on your lunch break!).

Duties

• Work with a team to preserve the attractiveness and property of the island
• Reviews member surveys to optimize preferences around the island
• Provide superior customer service to a diverse association membership, vendors, and organization partners, including working with other entities and municipalities to ensure projects are cross-functional
• Assist with the administration and completion of construction projects including research, bidding, proposals, purchase orders, contracting, payments, tracking/communicating updates, etc.
• Gain approval of capital projects and general maintenance work with review board
• Maintain files to provide complete historical data
• Assists with the annual reserve study as needed
• Assists with documentation and communication with vendors that provide products and services to the Maintenance Department
• Work closely with Senior Civil Engineer to keep them informed of events in a timely manner
• Provide timely information when unexpected events or emergencies require actions not covered through normal operating activities
• Ensure budgets are adhered to, contracts are in line with guidelines, and inform appropriate parties of unusual expenditures; also update budget forecasts as needed.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree from accredited organization required
• AutoCAD/Civil Design experience required
• ARCGIS a plus but not required
• Internship or 1 year relevant experience required
• Valid drivers license to drive company vehicle as needed
