Job Description

Seeking a Junior network engineer who is seeking to grow in a transparent infrastructure team allowing for growth while expecting adherance to practice, policy and procedure.

Candidate would have 1-3 years’ experience coming network support responsibilities and ideally looking for growth to new areas.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure under the guidance of senior network administrators or network engineers.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updating firmware, applying patches, and ensuring proper configuration of network devices
  • Identify and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, latency problems, and other network-related problems.
  • Work with end-users to diagnose and resolve network-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the configuration, installation, and deployment of network hardware and software components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining network security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access control
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.



Qualifications

  • Knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and other networking equipment commonly used in enterprise environments
  • Understanding of common network protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, and others.
  • Basic knowledge of network security principles including authentication, encryption, VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • Familiarity with common operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix, including basic command-line usage and configuration.
  • Knowledge of different network topologies
  • Ability to create and maintain network documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and end-users.

Direct Experience in any of the below is a plus.

Certifications

While not required, certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent demonstrate a commitment to learning and can enhance a candidate's qualifications

Compensation:

The expected annual salary for this position is between $90,000 - $100,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual’s skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
