What you will be doing


Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Quality, the Junior Process Engineer will focus on designing, optimizing, and operating various industrial processes and tools. The focus will be on improving efficiency and quality within the facilities while minimizing costs and waste. The Junior Engineer will assist in mapping out workflows, identifying bottlenecks and make data-driven recommendations for operations improvements.

  • Oversee implementation of process change, develop metrics to evaluate that the process is being followed and that it brings value to the organization.
  • Analyze the distribution processes, and identify areas of opportunity for improvement, and develop new methods/tools to improve the processes.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to study operational and performance data, and identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Warehouse Operations, Inventory Management, Transportation, and IT, to gather insights, perspectives, and feedback for process enhancement.
  • Drive process integration initiatives by developing and implementing strategies to streamline workflows, minimize costs, and improve overall operational efficiency using Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures (SOP) specific to warehouse and shipping activities including, but not limited to, receiving, putting away, storage, picking, palletizing, loading, and shipping.
  • Work closely with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology platforms (AutoCAD) to optimize process automation and data accuracy.
  • Participate and support start-up planning of attained new business including developing vendor RFQs and justification for capital investments and coordinating activities with vendors.
  • Perform time studies to create engineered labor standards to represent preferred methods established for warehouse positions.
  • Lead and manage projects using project management methodology.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance Metrics (KPI) programs specific to Warehouse Performance, productivity, improvement projects, Inventory Control, Postpone Pack and Returns processing.


What skills & experience you will bring to us


  • University degree in Engineering – ideally process or industrial
  • Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in the 3PL or related industry
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD software
  • Knowledge of process and industrial engineering standards
  • Knowledge of engineering design and applied technologies
  • Understanding of third-party logistics processes and flows
  • Excellent analytical and logic skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and multitasking skills
  • Blue Yonder software experience considered a strong asset
  • SQL queries experience considered a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials
  • Able to achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives
  • Excellent communication skills and Superior organization skills
  • Able to make decisions independently in a creative and effective manner, as well as plan and prioritize effectively and proactively
  • Able to work additional hours as required based on operational need

  • Ideal starting date is August 19, 2024
  • You will receive a permanent full-time contract with a 40-hour work week
  • Parking is available on premises
  • Our warehouse is in Plainfield, Indiana, just west of Indianapolis International Airport
  • You will have 15 vacation days per year
