We're KailŌs Genetics
At KailŌs Genetics, we pride ourselves in creating an environment where every individual's health and disease management experiences are informed and elevated by their unique biological data and supported through deep human connection. We are part of the healthŌme family which is a precision health services and disease management company that supports the life insurance industry by creating innovative living benefits programs.
KailŌs Genetics uses technology to operate a fully integrated, in-house genetics and genomics laboratory built on a foundation of software that provides an outstanding level of service and commitment to excellence to the people we serve.
Being a Part Of The Team
We put people first - period! Our aim is to keep our people happy and fulfilled, so they want to stay a part of our team. The values we embrace are:
Thoughtfulness: We operate in a quick, but thoughtful way. Our success is measured by our customers' experience, which requires constant consideration and thoughtful design processes.
Vulnerability: Being genuinely vulnerable in the workplace requires two things - a willingness to be open at the individual level and a collective culture that welcomes and recognizes genuine openness.
Conscientious Diligence - indicative of a work ethic and the belief that work is good in and of itself. It has the qualities of being constant, giving careful effort, and perseverance. In the context of achieving our vision, we treat our customers like one of our own and when advocating for them, we never quit.
Position Overview
This individual will collaborate closely with our customers, company stakeholders, and software developers to plan, design, develop, and manage software solutions. You will play an important role in advancing KailŌs Blue, our web-based platform that manages DNA next-generation sequencing (NGS) assays for our R&D, Clinical Production, and Business Operations teams. This system streamlines the Clinical Laboratory processes, analyzes sequencing data, and ensures smooth operations from test requisition to report delivery.
Candidates will work with the Kailos Software Development team and your initial focus will be on enhancing and optimizing the back-end bioinformatics pipeline with an eye to moving to Nextflow. Initial focus will be on implementing key improvements to the computational infrastructure to maximize throughput, scalability and uptime. Unit Testing will be an important part of the job as well.
General Experience And Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
Kailos Genetics offers a competitive salary, an employee stock option plan and a performance-based profit-sharing program. Benefits include health, dental and vision plans, 401k, group life insurance, short term and long-term disability, unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid company holidays.
