BCForward is currently looking for a highly motivated Laboratory Technician at Indianapolis, IN 46268!

Position Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46268

Anticipated Start Date: 7/29/2024

Expected Duration: 12 Months

Job Type: [FULL TIME (>=40 HRS WEEKLY)/ [CONTRACT], [ON-SITE]

Pay Range: [$20] /hr on w2

Shift/Schedule:

Work shift 7:00am - 3:30pm Mon-Fri

Flexibility to shift focus throughout the day as needed to meet customer demands.

Willing to work independently and with a team as needed. Self-initiated and desire to learn

Strong communication and time management skills

Ability to follow directions and protocols

Must have work experience

Description:

With guidance from supervision, assists technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research.

Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.

Wanted:

Individual capable of working with insects, plant material, and nematodes while completing routine, highly detailed work.

Previous laboratory experience preferred. Work environments vary throughout the day between laboratory, greenhouse, and insectary colonies.

Strong culture of safety requires individuals to adhere to all safety and ergonomic standards.

Extensive training in safety, ergonomics, and laboratory SOPs provided.

Basic tasks may include:

Clipping/thinning plants used in testing.

Hands-on infesting of plant and artificial diet material with various (non-stinging, non-hazardous) insect species.

Routine assay formulation using manual pipettes.

Specialized assay application using hand sprayers and track sprayers.

Laboratory maintenance (cleaning, restocking, etc.).

Grading insect assays.

Preparation of media used in entomology testing.

Scribing for evaluators

Requirements:
