You will be responsible for:

  • Actively managing landscape architectural projects that vary in type, size, and scale with a high level of proficiency and expertise, including park master planning and design, sustainable urban development, green stormwater infrastructure, and ecological system design
  • Supporting project scoping and fee development
  • Leading project production and tracking and manage project budgets
  • Delegating to and supporting the growth of junior staff within the landscape architecture department
  • Demonstrating and sharing knowledge that will advance the vision and goals of the team

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the field of landscape architecture
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional licensure as a Landscape Architect in Oregon or Washington State, or abilityto obtain reciprocity within 6months of start date
  • A strong portfolio of managed projects
  • Willingness to travel to project and office locations, on occasion, to support team collaboration, construction observation, and post-construction monitoring

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience producing contract documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates and ability to lead and manage teams throughout design production
  • Ability to develop design frameworks for defining project goals and achieving holistic project outcomes
  • Experience with and interest in public works, parks and trails, stormwater design, and infrastructure projects
  • Excellent writing, organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Experience writing scopes of work, project budgeting and responding to RFPs
  • Identifying multi-benefit opportunities for project outcomes
  • Experience and ability to decipher and implement various related building codes and permitting requirements
  • Technical experience with site planning, conceptual design, construction documents, and construction administration/observation
  • A passion for sustainable and environmentally sensitive design
  • A detailed design focus, in-depth analytical thinking, and strong technical skills
  • Interest and/or experience in mentoring
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and MS Office; familiarity with or desire to learn Rhino 3D, Civil 3D, and LandFX
  • Proficiency in Pacific Northwest native plant species identification and ecological restoration design
