As a Machine Learning Engineer, emphasizing collaborative review processes, you will actively participate in code and design reviews within the team.

Given the dynamic nature of the field, particularly with recent advancements in NLP and LLM, staying relevant and sharing knowledge with other team members is a key responsibility. In this individual contributor role you will design, develop, test and deploy ML models to solve customer problems and drive business forward. You will assist in designing ML services capable of large-scale model development.

You will work closely with many teams, such as product managers, engineers, and other data scientists, as an essential component of the Search and Personalization Machine Learning Team. In the role of Machine Learning Engineer, your responsibilities encompass guiding, planning, and executing the Search and Personalization ML Roadmap to elevate the Shipt Marketplace Experience. You will be responsible for creating the architecture and infrastructure and managing the deployment of state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms on the Shipt ML Platform, working in tandem with your ML team and engineering partners.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

Basic Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in Machine Learning pipeline building.
• Proficiency in frameworks like PyTorch or Tensorflow
• Deployment of models to production via fast-api and /or GRPC.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices like Feast, Kubeflow, MLFlow TFServing.Proficiency in Python, git, and airflow.
• Strong knowledge of ML-Frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Tensorflow, scikit-learn)
• Experience in Cloud Architecture and Cloud Platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS.
  
  

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City:

$82,086-$164,314

All other locations:

$68,405-$136,929

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
