Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC/Hydronic)

I am partnered exclusively with an exciting, rapidly expanding Mechanical Engineering firm, specializing within the commercial HVAC and Hydronic Industry, searching for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer as part of a brand new position within the team.

My client are the Engineering arm of a leading US Mechanical Contractor, renown for their design and build work in the Data Center field, among a wider portfolio of healthcare, education and technical facilities. As a Mechanical Engineer you will drive the design of HVAC and flush plans for commercial piping systems within greenfield facilities.

This will be a permanent, fully remote position with room for growth as the company looks to double in size in 2024.

What you’ll be doing:

- Design and review of HVAC and hydronic systems for commercial builds

- Perform engineering calculations (system pressure loss, volume calculations, etc.) and ensure accurate velocity in the piping systems.

- Design and layout flush plans in Bluebeam using company standards.

- Create flush plans per project requirements.

- Correct plans per design teams markups.

- Understand and execute engineering best practices and standards.

- Finalize designs and submit per review by design team.

What you’ll bring:

- Ability to read mechanical/HVAC drawings (i.e. mechanical floor plans/etc.)

- Experience with commercial piping systems (chilled water systems, heating hot water, condenser water, geothermal)

- Experience with pumps (i.e. selection process, pump curves, NPSH, etc.)

- Pressure loss calculations (i.e. losses though piping/fittings/etc.)

- Knowledge of industry and design principles.

- Experience with Bluebeam or similar programs

- An entrepreneurial mindset

- Experience with Data Center design is a plus

- Professional Engineer License highly desirable

This will be a full time, permanent position with the option to transition to W2 with full benefits once we have this setup in the next couple of months.
