We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Network Engineer to join the Propio team! In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient data communication. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network hardware, cloud networking and security protocols, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot network issues, optimize performance, and participate in the planning and execution of new network projects. Responsibilities:
Installation and maintenance of on premise and cloud networks and systems including firmware updates, wireless access points, VPN concentrators, routers and other physical hardware.
Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to operate independently with a minimal set of instructions
Demonstrated understanding of modern route / switch protocols and how to deploy and configure these in an enterprise environment.
Monitoring Propio networks for performance issues, creating / modifying alarms and monitors.
Able to work closely with security teams to investigate and respond to outages, cybersecurity events and document / explain findings and participate in post mortems
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours events as needed.
Preparing reference material for users by drafting operational instructions and process documents related to network technologies.
Able to work under pressure in stressful situations with a strong sense of urgency.
Mentor and SME for junior technical staff, internal Help Desk and partner teams in the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred but not required certifications
CCNA / CCNP
AWS / Azure
3-5 years of demonstrated experience working with a production network in a support role.
Production experience with common network technology providers such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.
Excellent knowledge of networking and network layer topology.
Demonstrated skills with firewall technologies and access control.
Familiarity with cloud based networking techniques and platforms such as AWS & Azure.
Experience supporting multiple sites remotely.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
