ABOUT US
Zoom Technology Arizona is a closed-access fiber network provider. We deploy Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network infrastructure nationwide in specific neighborhoods and Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTB). We construct, operate, and maintain the fiber network infrastructure. Our goal is to expand the business across the U.S., providing high-speed internet access and facilitating the digital transformation of underserved communities.
PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE
We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing fiber network infrastructure. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Design, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, GPON, cloud-based networks, and wireless and Wi-Fi solutions.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Functional proficiency with Local and Wide Area Networking equipment, Virtual Operating Systems, Firewalls, Passive Optical Networks, and other related technologies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve network challenges and downtime.
- Configure, design, and test network configuration.
- Document and diagramming of networks, relevant processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Develop technical specifications with vendors for equipment selection and evaluate equipment performance associated with the quality and procurement team.
- Define and maintain the network architecture to meet current and future business needs, scalability requirements, and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement network security policies and protocols to protect the organization’s data infrastructure from cyber threats and comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Directs internal and/or external resources to implement, manage, and repair fiber optic networks.
- Planned and developed new fiber optics routes and negotiated, as needed, for outside resources for detailed route design, material, and vendor specifications.
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
- Research existing databases, files, and records for purposes of network design, fiber optimization, and relocation of fiber facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) years proven hands-on network engineering experience
- CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- University degree in Computer Science or a related subject
- Hands on experience with all telecommunications systems including peripheral equipment (e.g.computer networks, optical fiber, on site controllers, data modems, terminals, etc)
- Adequate interpersonal and organizational skills
- Team player with customer service orientation
- BS degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or relevant field
