Initial 12+ month contract with option for extension and conversion
Compensation: $55-85/hr

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for an innovative nuclear company which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in complex mechanical design looking to further their career.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create preliminary and conceptual mechanical/structural designs for components of nuclear systems in Solidworks
Interface with a variety of engineering teams to support analysis and other activities across the product development lifecycle
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M
Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
4+ years' mechanical design experience in the nuclear sector or industrial industry
Experience with Solidworks and mechanical analysis
Experience with commercial piping and pressure vessel software is desired
Experience with designing pumps is desired
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
Nuclear industry experience
Experience with ASME BPVC, B31 codes
Experience with design of high pressure systems/pressure vessels, pumps, or high temperature systems
