Summary Objective
Under limited supervision, responsible for the protection of life and property; prevention of crime; apprehension of criminals; and the general enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work is performed in accordance with departmental rules and regulations and normally consists of duty with routine patrol and investigations.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 19 years of age
High school diploma or GED
Valid Florida driver's license with no more than five (5) points within three years of the date of application and no conviction-related endorsements.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement certification (certified applicants)
A Police Officer Civil Service examination will be required for all qualified applicants.
Non-certified applicants must meet all prerequisites of Palm Beach State Criminal Justice Institute, rules and regulations of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC), and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
