About this role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Production | Post-Production Intern to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment focused on producing high-quality content, often focused around our luxury experiential events.

If you are someone who enjoys doing it all–maybe you're an aspiring director who shoots and edits their own work, maybe you're an aspiring cinematographer who edits a director's work, maybe your focus is on editing but you still love to get out and operate the camera–then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Camera Operation:

  • Passion and drive to work as a cinematographer.
  • Experience and confidence shooting on digital cinema cameras, MATTE has some of the gear you'd use internally, including an ARRI Mini (and lens packages), as well as a Sony FS7.
  • Experience handling high-end gear and ensuring its safety.
  • An eye for shooting visually stunning and exciting content.
  • Experience shooting with a variety of different camera and lens packages.
  • Knowledge/interest in emerging camera tech is a plus.

Post-Production:

  • Passion and drive to work as an editor. .
  • Knowledge and comfort working in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Contribute to the editing process to ensure the final product meets high standards.
  • Ability to take and follow notes.

Production:

  • Can work both self-sufficiently and within the structure of a team.
  • A creative voice to help with conceptualizing concepts, and ability to convey those ideas in collaboration with the production team as you work to execute innovative ideas.
  • Basic grip and electric (G&E) skill set to support production as needed.
  • Properly handle and maintain camera and lighting gear, including to ensure their longevity and optimal performance.
  • Transport and set up equipment efficiently, especially in high-traffic areas.
  • When necessary, be responsible and organized while managing our lighting and camera equipment on set.

Qualifications

  • MUST be currently enrolled in a university or Master's program and local to the NYC area.
  • High proficiency in operating cinema cameras, cinematography work required.
  • Editing experience required.
  • Strong creative vision with a passion for producing beautiful and engaging content.
  • Basic knowledge of Grip and Electric (G&E) tasks.
  • Ability to handle and maintain camera and lighting equipment with care.
  • Adobe Creative Suite and video editing language skills required.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, with availability to work nights as required.
  • Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and work environments, often working independently.
  • Experience shooting in high-traffic areas and working independently.
