The role, at a glance:

As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for direct production line management duties, including identifying opportunities and implementing solutions for continual improvement of Manufacturing processes, Lean initiatives, and quality & regulatory compliance. The role will support production schedules based on customer demands, product introduction, labor/equipment efficiency, and materials supply. You will select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function. As the Production Supervisor, you will have a strong working knowledge of end-to-end production processes.


How you'll contribute:

  • Schedule and organize the workflow of production personnel.
  • Monitor product quality and process productivity, implementing methods of continuous improvement to reach established goals.
  • Provide general guidance and problem solving to all areas.
  • Maintain the process and documentation for training and cross-training of personnel.
  • Handle all management level responsibilities for assigned staff, including performance reviews, employee development, employee relations, investigations, hiring, terminations, and coaching.
  • Lead manufacturing team to achieve established targets for daily cycle time and on-time shipments (OTS).
  • Maintain high product quality and manufacturing yield while ensuring optimal use of resources and adherences to best safety practices.
  • Hire, coach, lead and develop manufacturing team members.
  • Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicator's (KPI's) to assess productivity and cost management.
  • Help with implementation of and continued adherence to Lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives.
  • Assess and analyze current practices and drive improvements.
  • Partner and coordinate with Manufacturing/Engineering, Materials, Quality, Customer Service, Human Resources, Hardware/Test Engineering, Facilities and Maintenance departments to resolve issues and concerns.
  • Support and collaborate with other departmental needs.
  • Lead by example through positive reinforcement and practice of behavior expectations.
  • Complete employee reviews on time and provide proper guidance to all production personnel according to the employee handbook and approved procedures.
  • Ensure all production activities aligns with the manufacturing roadmap.


You'll also assist by:

  • Communicating with fellow Production Supervisors to ensure required production coordination.
  • Partnering with Manufacturing Engineers regarding process problems and methods of improvement.
  • Coordinating with Planning department on capacity constraints and product availability.
  • Liaising with Maintenance department on equipment availability.
  • Additional duties assigned by your manager.


A successful candidate should have:

  • 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • Associate's degree in Business Management or related field is a plus.
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge/certification a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at various levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on complex issues and to develop resolutions via in-depth evaluation of factors and/or frequent use of creativity.
  • Proven ability to set and communicate challenging team goals and to achieve them through collaborative team leadership.
  • Must be available to work over-time and weekends when needed.


Work environment:

  • This is an onsite position based in Chester, PA
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. periodically
  • Stand or sit for long periods
  • Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending
  • Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels
  • Use tools that require fine hand skills
  • Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts
  • Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areas
