Role: R&D Engineer Project Manager II
Location: Plymouth, MN - 55442
Duration: 12 Months on W2
Shift Timings: 8 AM to 5 PM
Responsibilities
Job Description:
Manage supplier timelines and relationships
Oversee and negotiate supplier payment, pricing, and delivery schedules
Ensure quality and delivery of mechanical and electrical components (95% mechanical, 5% electrical)
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding CAPA issues and regulatory processes
Coordinate inspections and monitor overall project progress
Direct buyers to purchase order needs
Present project updates and reports as needed
Required Skills
Strong blend of project management and technical skills
Technical background in mechanical or industrial engineering, math, or physics
Experience in machining, assembly, and product development processes
Knowledge of medical device manufacturing (e.g., swiss machining, injection molding, extrusion, braiding)
Familiarity with regulatory processes and design verification
Proficiency in MS Office/Suite
Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience or Master’s degree with 3-5 years of experience
Experience in highly regulated industries
Experience in product development and quality assurance
Ability to follow and manage timelines effectively
Industry: Medical device manufacturing (new catheter for EP)
