Job Summary: The Remote Commercial Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in coordinating and managing all aspects of commercial construction projects. This role involves working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Prepare and distribute project reports, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing project budgets, including tracking expenses and processing invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
  • Conduct regular virtual meetings with project teams and stakeholders to discuss project status and resolve any issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals, and other pre-construction documentation.
  • Maintain project files and records in an organized and accessible manner.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to the Project Manager and project team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction project management or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and project documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work remotely from a home office.
  • Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
