The Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement (CI) will work with every department in the company to assess, identify and improve operational and organizational performance. The CI Senior Manager will lead communications with all employees regarding our True North journey and will lead multiple cross functional teams to Value Stream map at the company and department level. They will lead Kaizen events, root cause analysis, significant amounts of digital process creation and enhancements and other continuous improvement efforts as delegated.
Responsibilities:
Responsible supporting a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement in the organization by inspiring change and leading by example
Develop and maintain both short and long-term best practices that tie our strategic imperatives
Act as a change agent, systematically driving the use of Lean to drive continuous improvement throughout the company
Identify and lead loss/waste elimination activities throughout the company
Facilitate problem solving activities to drive root-cause, sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence
Facilitate and lead project team(s)
Provide guidance to organization leadership team on targeted projects and activities
Provide mentoring and guidance to all participants on projects and activities such as process mapping, value stream mapping, performance standards/metrics, ROI analysis, and project management
Develop and deliver meaningful communication and updates regarding initiatives including progress, risks, issues, mitigation plans, timelines, and success stories. This includes sharing out the teams who participated and celebrating the accomplishments
Maintain and communicate key performance indicators/dashboards for Continuous Improvement
Maintain data base of projects, tracking and reporting progress and performance to key stakeholders
Provide thought- leadership and ensuring the identified solutions are scalable and sustainable
Requirements:
Advance knowledge of structured problem solving (Black Belt certification or similar experience)
Demonstrated proficiency in structured problem-solving tools (Statistical Process Control, Kaizen, Process Mapping, 5S, Fishbone, etc.)
Change agent with strong credibility and influence while working in cross functional teams
High level proficiency in multiple programming languages and support/development of similar tool sets
Experience leading and influencing a team with common or shared goal, providing direction and coaching for performance and development
Project management skills including scoping, problem statements, goal definition, and timeline management
Experience with performance metrics and process improvement
Excellent interpersonal communication, time management, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and use of good judgement
Must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
A self-starter who is flexible, collaborative, and innovative
Ability to perform tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence
Must be willing to travel within the US and Internationally
Strong ability to effectively prioritizes tasks based on company and department goals
Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills needed to work with teams both within the US and Internationally
Ability to make recommendations that continuously improve policies and procedures
Proficient in Excel, and or a database application
College degree with 5-7 years of work experience of listed responsibilities is preferred. Okay to replace work experience for college degree
Continuous Improvement training and certification a must
