Internationalization at Pinterest is not just responsible for translation, but for cultural adaptation of everything related to the experience with Pinterest product, websites and marketing assets to provide Pinners and partners with an experience that feels local. We are currently looking for a Senior Program Manager experienced in localization to help Pinterest achieve our full potential in international markets. You will work closely with various stakeholders: marketing and PR teams, vendors, engineers, producers and designers to shape the experience of millions of Pinners around the globe.

As a Senior Internationalization Project & Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading the localization and adaptation of Pinterest online content on a global scale. You will play a key role in developing and executing plans to ensure efficient and effective localization processes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the success of the internationalization program and you will engage in cross-functional or corporate initiatives to represent international and influence the stakeholders for continuous process improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • You will autonomously drive a localization program aligned with company objectives, taking into consideration user needs, market dynamics, and technology trends.
  • Lead and execute end-to-end localization program management tasks, including defining processes, managing operations with internal and external stakeholders, and overseeing the localization workflow from request creation to content deployment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to align on localization strategy, plans, and schedules to optimize the localization process.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to provide visibility on roadmaps, progress, risks, and change control related to the localization program.
  • Represent the Internationalization team and advocate for international users while engaging with cross-functional teams to drive program success.
  • Educate and guide Pinterest stakeholders on internationalization and localization best practices, leveraging your domain knowledge and technical understanding.
  • Design and implement scalable localization frameworks to ensure continuous process improvement and drive operational efficiency.


What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in localization program management, with a deep understanding of localization best practices and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in translation management systems (TMS) and CAT tools, with experience in TMS integrations and technical understanding of localization processes.
  • Strong expertise in localization of online content, marketing content, and visual assets, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in both the technical and the creative side of localization: able to seamlessly transition from meetings with Engineering teams discussing the impact of new builds on localization to collaborating with the Creative Writing team to align on creative briefs for international transcreators.
  • Outstanding time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate project challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience working with quality management and testing processes.
  • Fluency in a second (or third) language is a plus, along with experience with LLMs and/or machine translation technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as translation, localization, or equivalent experience in a related industry.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of SEO best practices, content management or authoring tools, graphic design tools.

Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
