Digitran, a unit of Electro Switch, located in Rancho Cucamonga CA, is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector. Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, this position will perform a variety of quality control tests/audits/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc. at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. Applying advanced experience and knowledge with procedures, techniques, tools and/or equipment to record and analyze data, and be able to communicate any findings to management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the job functions of the following inspection functions:
Receiving Inspection. This includes visual, mechanical and electrical inspections, all paperwork, and department liaison as required.
Work-In-Process Inspection and Final Inspection for all Switch products, including all visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections, all applicable paperwork and test reports, and department liaison as required.
Perform First Article Inspection and complete C of Cs as required by customer specifications.
Explain to assembly personnel all required rework and corrective actions.
Prepare and distribute monthly department reports as required by AS9100 procedures.
Enter In-Process and Final Job Information in the Syteline ERP system.
Provide corrective actions to the customer when required.
Analyze statistical data where required to validate or show deviations from existing standards.
Maintain the Calibration system when required.
Perform various auditing functions in support of our AS9100 quality system or as directed.
Participate in recommending modifications to existing standards, methods, and procedures.
Perform acceptance test procedures and any tests per the customer requirements.
Perform any tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager in support of the company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a design/manufacturing ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment. This experience preferably should be with small Electro-Mechanical Defense/Aerospace product lines.
Minimum 3 Years’ Experience Within The Quality Environment.
IPC A610 and 620 experience highly desirable.
Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other related literature is necessary.
Ability to learn or operate a vision inspection machine and an optical comparator.
Due to ITAR regulations, must be US citizen to be eligible for this position.
The Probation & Orientation time is 6 months.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have good eyesight for small details on small parts and the occasional use of optical equipment.
Light lifting – up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to set up and run test equipment using small hand tools.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma required. Must be fluent in oral and written English with good computer skills and knowledgeable of MS Office applications.
A self-starter who can work with minimal or no supervision. Must be alert for quality situations requiring immediate corrective action. Must be able to communicate with all levels of QC and production hourly and supervisory personnel.
Customer focused in every thing we do and works well under pressure while meeting deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITY AND SAFETY:
Knowledge of standard safety procedures is required.
It is the responsibility of the Inspector to insure that any/all manufactured products meets the requirements set forth in the specification sheet. Any deviations are noted and brought to the attention of the Quality manager for corrective action.
