The Senior Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in optimizing the entire supply chain process. This position works closely with our supply chain business partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations across the franchise system. The main responsibilities for this position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, inventory management, forecasting, vendor relationship management, and supply chain communications. This position reports directly to the CEO/President and is a member of the senior leadership team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain within the food industry, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of managing multi-warehouse distribution systems.
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility in hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Physical presence at our office in Orlando is required at least 3 days a week.
Essential Functions
Facilitate communication and work cross-functionally with various stakeholders internally and externally.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline communication channels and enhance supply chain initiatives across the franchise system.
Develop and implement strategic and tactical inventory management practices across the franchise system.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure continuous product availability, and minimize excess stock and disruption.
Conduct both short-term and long-term demand forecasting.
Utilize forecasting models to predict future demand accurately and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
Analyze usage data for SKUs to support inventory management, forecasting, and other planning activities.
Generate reports and insights from data to inform decision-making and identify trends.
Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting supply chain.
Analyze financial, industry and internal forecasts for products and materials and anticipate changes in cost, availability, and suitability of products.
Handle the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary materials.
Manage relationships with vendors to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of existing SKUs.
Source new SKUs as needed, negotiating terms and ensuring they meet company standards.
Manage supplier performance to ensure consistent service, high quality and low costs of goods/services.
Communicate effectively with vendors to address any issues, coordinate orders, and maintain strong partnerships.
Implement strategies to improve supply chain performance.
Drive initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities and support the organization’s cost reduction objectives while maintaining customer satisfaction, quality and delivery performance.
Review, analyze and present status and progress updates to Management to ensure projects are on target and within budget.
Analyze current inventories and procedures to increase efficiency and profitability of supply chain.
Qualifications
5-7 years of supply chain experience in the food industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of Sysco’s or a comparable distributor’s operations.
Strong experience with Excel spreadsheet and model building.
Minimum of 2 strong supply chain-related references.
Experience with broadline distribution preferred.
Experience working with franchise business owners preferred.
Requirements
Proven experience managing inventory in a multi-warehouse distribution system with over 20 locations.
Proven ability to develop and implement short-term and long-term forecasts for various product categories.
Strong analytical skills for data analysis related to SKU usage, inventory management, and forecasting.
Proven experience developing and working with extensive data and spreadsheets.
Expertise in managing vendor relationships, including procurement and effective communication.
Strong general supply chain and retail business understanding that supports creative problem-solving.
