Senior Tax Associate- R&D

Exactera has offices in New York City, Tarrytown NY, St. Petersburg FL, London, and Argentina.

Compensation $70,000 - $90,000 per year depending on experience

As a Senior Associate - R&D within the Professional Services team, you will be utilizing a bespoke technology platform specifically designed to meet compliance needs for R&D incentives.

In the role, you will contribute to various aspects of identifying, calculating, and documenting R&D incentive claims as well as supporting clients through any tax authority examinations. You will also guide clients through implementation of the software and education of any staff that will utilize the platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical interviews with subject matter experts, draft technical narratives, and utilize industry leading software to compute jurisdictional credits.
• Communicate with clients via email and virtual meetings and assist PM to manage multiple projects at a time.
• Apply tax code and regulations to various client situations and industries
• Oversee the work of Associates, provide mentorship and feedback, facilitate training of new associates.
  
  

What You Will Need To Succeed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or other related/quantitative fields
• 2+ years of experience within R&D
• Ability to prioritize and drive progress on multiple projects
• Self-motivated and able to work in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong analytical and project management skills
• Analytically minded with a sharp eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently to achieve results
• Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to outsourcing professionals
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  
  

In addition, your role will contribute to the Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success aspects of our business by understanding and being involved in the lifecycle of a project, from client acquisition to completion.This is a unique opportunity for a tech savvy individual that has a positive, can-do attitude and demonstrates the ability to understand tax compliance and regulatory programs. The candidate must have 3+ years of professional work experience related to R&D incentives.
