Location/Remote: 100% Remote (will work Eastern Time Zone hours)


Employment Type: 6-month W-2 contract (ability to extend to 2+ years)


Compensation: up to $65/hour W-2 (depending on experience)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in delivering high-quality software products. You will be responsible for designing and executing manual test cases, creating and managing test plans in Azure DevOps, and ensuring data integrity through database testing.


Responsibilities:


  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans to verify software functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Utilize manual testing techniques to identify and report software defects.
  • Write clear and concise test cases, outlining steps, expected results, and pass/fail criteria.
  • Create and manage test plans within Azure DevOps, defining testing objectives, scope, and resources.
  • Collaborate with developers and other QA engineers to ensure effective communication and resolution of identified issues.
  • Perform database testing, including querying data, creating test scripts, and verifying data integrity during migrations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest software testing methodologies and tools.
  • Document testing processes and results for future reference.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software QA testing, preferably with a focus on manual testing.
  • Experience with creating, formulating and executing test plans.
  • Familiarity writing test plans for relational database migration (i.e., SQL).
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps for test plan management (a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
