Kforce has a client in Redmond, WA that is seeking a Software Quality Assurance. Summary: This team writes infrastructure code for the automated testing so that can often be like moving from one testing framework to another. They also debug test failures and help the feature teams to write reliable tests which then another, newer role that the team is also working on, has some on call like engineer responsibilities where you know various Azure DevOps pipelines fail. This person must be comfortable with jumping into challenges. On this team there is an on call engineer - two people rotation. Once a month, we need to investigate them and understand the the failures and take action based on what's going wrong. They may need to escalate it to a team that owns the test or a piece of infrastructure that they own is failing and may need to create a bug in ourselves and fix that. Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm - 10% meetings, 60% investigating pipeline, 30% projects. Responsibilities:
Writes test cases, and may run and / or write test automation scripts
Performs detailed analysis of test results and adjusts test cases accordingly
Can provide some bug prevention or proactive testing through product specification reviews
Works with developers and/or program managers to troubleshoot failures or triage to the appropriate level
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, and/or experience with testing preferred
1-2 years of work related experience required
Relevant related experience will be considered
Knowledge of, and experience in, black box software testing principles
Demonstrated ability to define and use common terms and concepts for at least one operating system and environment required
Beginner to intermediate level knowledge of one or more scripting languages (JavaScript, VBScript, Perl Script or Windows batch files) may be required
Working knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP), hardware, debugging, and operating systems preferred
Knowledge of Windows interface guidelines may be required
Should be able to work independently
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
