What You’ll Be Doing

Nuvation Bio is looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior Director of Patient Services. The Senior Director of Patient Services will be responsible for developing the patient access strategy and managing support services for patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers to shape the customer experience based on the patient journey. This individual will shape the wrap around services that provide optimal support for the cancer patients we serve. This role will develop and manage key patient services monitored through performance goals. This role will manage inbound patient Hub and services data to ensure a high level of service performance. This position will play a critical role in ensuring efficient design, integration, and operations of patient support services including, HUB, financial support, and adherence services throughout the patient journey. The Senior Director, Patient Services will lead strategy, development, negotiation, implementation, and management of patient services in line with brand strategies for the organization. This individual will work closely with sales, market access, marketing, legal, patient advocacy, medical and commercial operations on a routine basis to ensure alignment of shared objectives and patient services. This role reports to the Executive Director of Value, Access, Pricing and Policy Strategy and this role is a remote position.

You will be responsible for…

  • Work closely with Legal, Supply Chain, Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Medical, IT and Finance around distribution operational issues for expedited resolution
  • In-depth knowledge and experience across patient services, specialty pharmacy channel, hub and vendor management, patient service program design and management.
  • Oversee day to day management of the patient services operations and program
  • Lead a team of case managers, provide direction on their day-to-day responsibilities of case resolution and provide reimbursement support to the field.
  • Work in collaboration with the Market Access to create field resources for the market access and sales teams
  • This position will be responsible for a high level of coordination with Field Strategic Account teams, Sales, and Commercial Operations to ensure team members possess a deep understanding of the critical aspects of our patient services, provider services and distribution model
  • Understanding and working knowledge of the commercialization process, market access, patient access/affordability and pricing and contracting approaches.
  • This position will need to evolve patient services based on the changing reimbursement environment and the 2025 Medicare Part D benefit redesign
  • Ensure quarterly business reviews are conducted with our HUB partners so that all partners understand performance to key deliverables
  • Ensure close collaboration with the Sr. Director of Trade and Distribution to harmonize all aspects of the patient services program to include various offerings like PAP, Commercial Co-Pay, Voucher, Quick Start, Bridge, AE management and data procurement through our data aggregator
  • Establish strong relationships and effective communication with key internal stakeholders and outside vendors sharing insights across the organization seeking continuous improvement to our programs and program offerings
  • Develop the training materials for our patient support services and lead the roll-out with the field and hub partners
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between Strategic Account Team, Field Sales, Marketing, Legal and patient/provider hub services to achieve organizational goals
  • This role requires superior analytical, writing and presentation skills with the ability to present orally and in writing all data and insights related to our patient services
  • Manage the development of the patient support service microsites and work in partnership with Market Access to update and maintain the microsites
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities or ad hoc projects as required

What Knowledge & Experience You'll Bring To Us...

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or science, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • The successful candidate will have 10+ years of pharma/biotech experience in the market access, patient services or distribution space
  • Strong demonstrated understanding and experience with patient services programs
  • Previous experience launching Specialty/Orphan drugs and setting up various patient services programs, oral oncology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in patient services and polices affecting patient services
  • Fundamental understanding of price and price reporting implications around distribution agreements (Fair Market Value services etc.)
  • Fundamental understanding of oncology eMR systems, provider work flow and pharmacy processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a broad based business acumen
  • Ability to build high level customer relationships with strong interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and cross functional partners
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • 25% travel required to customers and home office

The pay range for this position is $250,000 to $275,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
