What You'll Be Doing

This position will lead in the development of design standards, processes, and style guidelines. This role will oversee instructional design strategy of ACI Learning products to market. Your responsibilities will be invaluable to ensure the effective instructional design philosophy for our clients and the efficient and on time delivery of our learning materials.

Reporting to the Manager of Instructional Design, you will work closely with other Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Editors to develop the strategy and innovation of ACI Learning content. Also, you will champion, plan, and execute instructional design strategy for all ACI-owned training products and help maintain products that align with skills and job roles in today’s modern workplace.

This role will shadow the Manager of Instructional Design to serve as their proxy as needed.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Design and build creative, innovative, effective digital training products
• Design, develop, and maintain synchronous and asynchronous training materials to include lesson plans, course guides, PowerPoint/HTML-based presentations and classroom aids as needed
• Create CDPs/Outlines, estimate and track project timelines for approval Manager of Content Development/Director
• Develop and track project estimations, timelines, and budgets for the on-time delivery of products
• Define and document processes to ensure compliance and efficiency
• Coordinate and facilitate project kick-off, retrospective, and product training meetings
• Project manage the revision and feedback cycle of each project managed
• Enthusiastically develop less experienced IDs to support internal promotion pathways
• Coordinate and manage multiple projects concurrently as needed
• Proactively identify project risks and provide viable solutions to Product Leadership
• Ideate and provide storyboard design updates or solutions for the continuous improvement of learning outcomes
• Support Product Leadership in data gathering and/or reports to meet organizational needs
• Understand the characteristics of ACI Learning users and cater to their needs through continuous iteration
• A senior instructional designer must utilize their expertise and experience by mentoring and guiding instructional design specialist while implementing policies and regulations.
• Design and build creative, innovative, effective asynchronous training products
• Prioritize tasks effectively and manage workload across team members
• Produce and apply project estimations, timelines, and budgets for the on time delivery of products
• Define and refine processes to ensure compliance and efficiency
• Conceptualize and contribute to innovative methods for digital content delivery
• Demonstrate the value in cross-functional alignment and key metrics
• Remain informed of and occasionally analyzes competing products; shares product and market information with team and stakeholders.
• Prioritize tasks effectively and manage workload across team members
• Produce and apply project estimations, timelines, and budgets for the on time delivery of products
  
  

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree and at least 6 to 8 years of Instructional Design experience
• Experience directly related to the role may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the education requirement.
• Experience in end-to-end product development lifecycle (ADDIE).
• Technical writing or editing work experience, or education equivalent.

• Experience with project management methodologies (i.e. PERT, Waterfall, Kanban)
  
  

Additional Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

• Ability and willingness to enthusiastically develop less experienced IDs to help them grow their skills.
• Familiar with working on or alongside remote and dispersed teams.
• IT literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft O365 suite.
• Knowledge and experience working with Learning Management Systems.
• Knowledge and/or experience with online training products
• Understanding of the use and application of templates, structure, and grids for the digital delivery of courseware; basic xml and html knowledge
• Ability to work with SMEs to scale team's productivity
• Ability to differentiate when to escalate an issue and when to problem solve
