Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Staff Accountant at David Rio Chai & Tea, headquartered in San Francisco. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, financial statements preparation, and assisting with audits. This role is full-time, working remotely. Individual must live within the Pacific Time Zone. 


Responsibilities


1. Accounts Receivable (AR):

· Monitor AR Inbox, Statement of Account (SOA), Credit Memos.

· Prepare and distribute AR Summary Report regularly.

· Manage Credit Application communications and update our ERP system.

· Follow up with customers and implement follow-up plans to ensure timely payments.



2. Accounts Payable (AP):

· Manage AP software to ensure timely payments and accurate recording.

· Process A/P functions, including employee expense reports.

· Monitor approved bills and bills subject for approval.

· Record approved bills. Input and maintain electronic vendor files.

· Approve, record, and process bills accurately.

· Email and monitor responses for trade references of customers for credit checks.

· Generate reports and manage customers' credit balances, credit applications and line of credits.

· Research and resolve A/P issues.

· Work closely and in coordination with our Accounting manager and international team

3. General Accounting:

· Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and maintain accurate records.

· Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

· Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies.

· Serve as the primary Backup to the Accounting manager, ensuring accounting processing continuity.

· Participate in continuous improvement of payment and expense managing processes.

· Develop and maintain positive relationships with national and international customers.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2-3 years experience with bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using accounting system software and Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-initiative
  • Ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment
