About The Role
We are looking for Underwriters and Senior Underwriters to join our growing US Managing General Agency (MGA) team. These roles are crucial for developing and managing a profitable book of business. Ideal candidates are experienced, customer-focused collaborators with a background in sports insurance. You will join us during a period of significant growth and digital transformation, fostering a mindset of ownership and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve profitability, retention, and written premium goals.
Make independent decisions within underwriting authority and maintain proper documentation.
Develop annual business goals and maintain accountability of agency partners.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of sports & fitness segment products and services.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with brokers and agents.
Demonstrate strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Work on complex assignments within broad limits and authorities.
Clearly articulate our value proposition and risk appetite to brokers and agents.
Participate in training and documentation initiatives.
Own your results with a focus on goals, skills, and career growth.
Analyze prospective brokers and make underwriting decisions in accordance with guidelines.
Collaborate with management on risks requiring special handling.
Work cross-departmentally to improve operations, processes, and workflows.
Demonstrate responsiveness and urgency in communication.
Participate in special projects as assigned.
Travel as needed for team collaboration, events, and client/carrier meetings (15%-20%).
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of middle market and/or large account underwriting experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired Characteristics
Experience with Socotra and/or Salesforce, or ability to learn quickly.
Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong emotional intelligence.
Ability to influence without authority.
Experience in or understanding of the youth/amateur sports landscape.

Ability to travel occasionally for team events, conferences, or customer visits.

Compensation And Benefits
Competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $125,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
