Vice President of Accounting

Our client seeks a highly experienced and dynamic Vice President of Accounting to join their prestigious full-service polished casual restaurant group in Las Vegas.

the VP of Accounting will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and financial operations for this multi-location restaurant group. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the restaurant industry, specifically with Restaurant 365 or similar restaurant-specific accounting software, and a proven track record of leadership in finance and accounting roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the accounting department, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cost control functions.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Manage the monthly and annual financial close process, including preparation of financial statements and variance analysis.
• Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for all restaurant locations.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgetary benchmarks and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports for management, shareholders, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee cash flow management, treasury functions, and banking relationships.
• Collaborate with operational teams to analyze financial impact of business decisions and initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for the accounting team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles within the full-service or polished casual restaurant industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing accounting functions.
• Strong proficiency with Restaurant 365 or similar restaurant-specific accounting software is required.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a high-performing accounting team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to business decisions and drive financial performance.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
