Vice President of Engineering

Our client is a leading packaging solutions provider known for innovation and with revenues of close to $1bn and just under 100 manufacturing sites across the US and Canada. The organization was one of the first to provide 100% recycled bottles to consumers and their commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship continues to be at forefront of their industry today. This role will be vital in continuing this legacy and inspiring new ideas for driving value to both the organizations customers and the environment.

They have retained our firm to identify a Vice President of Engineering to lead them through a time of great transformation and continue to grow their engineering program, taking it to a world class level. A successful candidate for this position will help create and execute on a strategy for a robust engineering function enterprise wide. This position demands a strong people leader who can navigate challenges that come with being a growing organization, create buy-in / a CI mindset at all levels, and guide the organization to greater levels of automation and innovation.

Role responsibilities:

• Directs and develops the technical transformation team inclusive of Project Management and Execution, Process Engineering and the organizations Machine Build Program Management, Automation, and Commercialization.
• Leads the development and implementation of the Early Management Pillar of TPM.
• Leads engineering projects, incorporates newest technologies, resolves engineering problems, and recommends technical solution sets for old and new problems. Seeks out, qualifies, and incorporates the newest applicable technologies
• Challenge current practices in plant operations that limit opportunities and suboptimize throughput and reliability.

Background and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
• 10 + years in Manufacturing/ Engineering, project management, automation and or commercialization.
• Has numerous years in a leadership role with team management responsibilities
• TPM experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to correctly prioritize tasks.
