Vice President of Operations

CAVA’s Vice President of Operations will be responsible for the leading, planning, directing, growth, and productivity within specific restaurant markets across the United States. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this role will oversee and manage the operational aspects, leadership policies and leadership control over restaurant operations within their regions of responsibility while upholding operational company standards and maintaining policy compliance, maximizing profitability for existing restaurants and leading new restaurant/new market growth.

What You’ll Do

Collaborate with CAVA leadership to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize restaurant operations and achieve business targets by leading a team of Regional Directors of Operations

Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to above restaurant leaders in the span of control, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Continue to innovate around structure and span of control as CAVA continues to grow.

Performance Management: Monitor key performance metrics and financial targets, implementing action plans to achieve and exceed operational goals.

Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of food quality, service excellence, cleanliness, and adherence to brand standards across all restaurants. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify restaurant trends and identify improvements.

Training and Development: Develop training programs and resources to enhance team capabilities in areas such as guest service, food preparation, and safety protocols. Build people development plans and provide leadership and guidance to direct reports including Regional Directors, Senior Area Leaders, Area Leaders, Multi Unit Managers, and General Managers.

Financial Oversight: Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize profitability. Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for all restaurant locations.

Expansion and Growth: Support new restaurant openings, remodels, and expansions, ensuring smooth transitions and successful launches. Develop diversity-focused success metrics as an essential business strategy

Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health, food safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive Operations leadership experience.
  • Experience leading, inspiring and developing high-performing leadership teams.
  • Experience reporting on weekly, monthly, and quarterly market performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure profitability and control costs managing a P&L.
  • Ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Requires knowledge of MS Office and the ability to learn systems.
  • Excellent communications skills with drive, energy, and a passion for the development of people and the business
  • The ability to travel up to 50% or more, based on business demand.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
