The Cambria Hotel in Detroit is expanding and looking for a Wedding and Social Events Sales Manager to join our team!

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Wedding and Social Events Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales within the events or hospitality industry, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and cultivating client relationships. As the Wedding and Social Events Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and revenue through proactive outreach, client consultations, and strategic sales initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for weddings and social events. Identify new business opportunities and generate leads through networking, referrals, and outreach efforts.

Client Consultation and Relationship Building

  • Meet with prospective clients to understand their event needs, preferences, and budget. Tailor proposals and presentations to showcase our services and capabilities effectively.

Proposal Development and Contract Negotiation

  • Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and pricing estimates based on client requirements and company guidelines. Negotiate terms and conditions to secure bookings and maximize profitability.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the event planning and operations teams to ensure seamless transition of sales to execution. Provide ongoing support and communication to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.

Market Research and Analysis

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Use insights to adjust sales strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Sales Reporting and Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and revenue projections using CRM software. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.

Client Retention and Upselling

  • Build long-term relationships with existing clients to foster repeat business and referrals. Identify opportunities for upselling additional services or upgrades to enhance the client experience.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • The ideal candidate for this position must be extremely friendly, outgoing, and organized.
  • Must be able to work a Wednesday thru Sunday schedule, with Monday and Tuesday as off days.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Engaging presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to work onsite. This role is not eligible for work from home.
  • Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours, including days, weekends, nights, and holidays.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years’ experience in hospitality sales or related professional area.
  • Prefer a 4-year degree from an accredited university in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
