Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending a talk by #benedettapetruzzo CEO of Miu Miu Her insights on leadership and her down-to-earth nature truly surprised me. Here are a few key takeaways that resonated with me: 🚀 Ambition: she emphasized the importance of not being afraid to pursue one's goals and objectives. As she said, "Be ambitious and say yes to new opportunities." 💡 Authenticity: staying true to oneself is a key element. She shared how bringing her values and characteristics into her role has been crucial, even though it's not always easy. The same approach is essential for the brand: doing things that genuinely resonate with each brand identity reinforces positioning in the customer's mind. 🤲 Collaboration and Respect: Mutual respect and continuous dialogue among all departments is vital, in particular between business teams and creatives. Believing in yourself as a young CEO! ✨ From the beginning of my career, my age always seemed to count against me. I was, at that time, one of the youngest managers globally both at Estée Lauder Companies and Dior. While my leadership team believed in me and hired me for a reason, there were some that truly doubted my hiring and were not afraid to voice it. Instead of judging me on my skills and achievements, they kept putting me down saying I didn’t have enough experience or wasn’t old enough to handle the pressure of my role. BUT there were many that reminded me to believe in my work, and surround myself with those that believe in me!
